Great coverage by David Lynch for the Medical Independent on the FemTech sessions at the Future Health Summit 2026
An article this week by health journalist David Lynch following the Future Health Summit highlighted the growing importance of data, digital transformation and technology in delivering better healthcare outcomes across Ireland.
Among the key discussions at this year’s Summit was “The Evolution of Women’s Health: Innovation, Data and the Next Frontier of Personalised Care”, featuring Health Innovation Hub Ireland (HIHI) Director Dr Tanya Mulcahy. The session explored how improved data, digital health technologies and innovation can help address longstanding gaps in women’s healthcare and support more personalised approaches to care.
Dr Mulcahy highlighted the findings of Ireland’s first FemTech report, Femtech in Ireland: The Case for Prioritising Women’s Health Research and Innovation, which identified significant opportunities to advance women’s health through research, innovation and technology-enabled solutions. The report has already contributed to increased national focus on women’s health innovation, including dedicated funding commitments for research in this area.
The themes emerging from both the Summit and Lynch’s coverage align closely with HIHI’s mission to connect healthcare challenges with innovative solutions. As Ireland continues its digital health transformation, the effective use of data, technology and evidence-based innovation will be critical to improving patient outcomes and supporting a more sustainable healthcare system.
HIHI is proud to contribute to these national conversations and to support innovators, clinicians and researchers working to develop the next generation of healthcare solutions for Ireland.
