Michael Duane
Michael Duane is a Principal Clinical Engineer and a member of the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering department at University Hospital Galway for over 20 years. Before joining the HSE, Michael worked in a leading multinational medical device company. Working at the hospital, he is responsible for routine maintenance, repair and purchase of state-of-the-art medical technology. Within this role, Michael has a keen interest in remote patient monitoring and the growth of the Medical Device-IT convergence and how it should be used for the safe and effective use of medical devices.
Michael has an MSc. in Digital Health Transformation and Diplomas in Industrial Automation and Electronic Engineering. He also lectures for the MSc. in Medical Physics and Digital Health Transformation at the Universities of Galway and Limerick.
