Michael Duane
Michael is a Principal Clinical Engineer, and part of the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering department at University Hospital Galway for over 20 years with previous industry experience with a leading multinational medical device company. Working across the various departments of the hospital he is responsible for the purchase and support of medical technology. Within this role he has a keen interest in remote patient monitoring and the growth of the Medical Device-IT Convergence and how it can be adopted for the safe and effective use of medical devices.
Michael has an MSc. in Digital Health Transformation and Diplomas in both Industrial Automation and Electronic Engineering. He also lectures for the MSc. In Medical Physics and Digital Health Transformation at the University of Galway and Limerick respectively.
