Dr. Tanya Mulcahy appointed Director of Health Innovation Hub Ireland

Health Innovation Hub Ireland is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Tanya Mulcahy as Director.

Tanya has held the position of Interim Director since February 2021 and the position of National Manager since 2016. She has over 30 years’ experience in the start-up,  pharma, product development and research industry in Ireland and the US. She has a PhD in Cancer Genetics, has conducted postdoctoral research in Neuropsychiatric Genetics, has a BSc in Biochemistry and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Trials. In 2021 she was appointed by the Minister for Health to the HPRA Medical Device Advisory Committee, she is a member of the National Clinical Trials Office Advisory Committee and a mentor on a number of programmes. Tanya is based in the HIHI Headquarters in University College Cork.

Health Innovation Hub Ireland (HIHI) is a national government backed initiative supported by Enterprise Ireland and the Health Service Executive. HIHI is led by University College Cork with partners Munster Technological University, Trinity College Dublin and NUI Galway.  Health Innovation Hub Ireland drives engagement between industry and healthcare to support the assessment, development and piloting of new technologies, from ideas to product, within the Irish healthcare system. Since 2016, HIHI has supported more than 500 healthcare companies, engaged with more than 400 healthcare staff ideas and delivered innovation education programmes to over 1000 people.
