Paula Newell

Paula is the CEO / founder of AVeta Medical; developing an innovative, non-hormonal, safe, affordable medical device to treat vaginal atrophy for postmenopausal women and breast cancer survivors. In 2018, she successfully received an Enterprise Ireland commercialisation grant to develop the medical device. Paula is an award winner of the EIT Health HeadStart and has participated in the EIT Health accelerator and WildCard programmes.  

Paula’s clinical background is Paediatric Occupational Therapy in the public and private health sector, nationally and internationally. Paula presents with 20 years of varied clinical experience as a Senior Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Manager. In 2017, she graduated from the NUIG BioInnovate fellowship where she identified the unmet clinical need that she is presently exploring.
