Daye Diagnostic Tampon
by Daye
The Daye Diagnostic Tampon is a self-sampling device designed to make HPV screening more comfortable, familiar and accessible. Instead of requiring a traditional clinical sampling method, the tampon allows the user to collect a vaginal sample themselves, which can then be tested for 14 high-risk strains of HPV, including HPV 16 and 18, which are associated with cervical cancer.

The device has demonstrated high sensitivity and user acceptability across diverse groups and is validated for use with Roche, Hologic, BD and Abbott testing systems.
Key benefits:
  • More comfortable and acceptable – The tampon design is familiar and can make HPV self-sampling less invasive and intimidating than traditional screening methods.
  • Effective HPV detection – It can detect 14 high-risk HPV strains, including HPV 16 and 18, which are strongly associated with cervical cancer.
  • Improves accessibility – Self-sampling allows people to collect their own sample, helping overcome barriers such as embarrassment, anxiety or difficulty accessing healthcare.
  • Easy to use and cost-effective – The product is simple for users to use and has been identified as a potentially cost-effective approach to HPV screening.
  • More environmentally friendly. The Daye Diagnostic Tampon is made from 100% cotton, and its applicator is made using bio-based sugarcane material instead of conventional petroleum-based plastic. This makes the product a more sustainable option for HPV screening.
