HIHI joins speakers from across Irish healthcare sector for the HSE conference: “We’re Taking Climate Action – The Time is Now”
On September 16, at the Royal College of Physicians, Health Innovation Hub Ireland joined the HSE’s Climate Action Team, along with the Climate and Health Alliance and the HSE Spark Innovation Programme, to discuss the important progress being made within the healthcare sector in Ireland when it comes to tackling climate change and creating sustainable healthcare for all. The conference – themed “We’re Taking Climate Action – The Time is Now” – featured guest speakers from across the Irish healthcare sector, including HIHI National GreenTech in Health Lead, Eimear Galvin, who discussed the health vision to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Eimear shared the HIHI GreenTech development story of collaboration and co-design with HIHI, the ICGP, HSE and Clinical Sustainability Advisors. She updated on the progress of the six winners of last years GreenTech in health call and shared the progress being made by HIHI led GreenTech in Health Collective, that brings together state agency, industry, policy, academia and clinicians to stimulate and support the development of innovative products and services that promote environmental sustainability in Irish healthcare.
