MedChat enhances patient communication by using everyday modern platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. Legacy channels such as letters and SMS’s are an expensive, one-way communication. By moving towards a ‘digital first’ solution the patient can receive real-time information direct to their WiFi device.
Progressing on from legacy letter/SMS communications is vital to be able to respond to the modern patient needs and expectations. Currently, patients will receive several appointment letters weeks before their actual appointment. Using MedChat the patient will receive their appointment notification in real-time and reminders the night before via WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, reducing the probability of ‘Did not attend’ DNAs.
MedChat utilises some of the latest digital technology such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) to understand and respond to patients in real-time. As an example, if a patient asks about their public transport option to the clinic, MedChat will understand the question being asked and immediately respond with the patient's best options.
