University College Cork is the lead academic institution with Professor John Higgins as Principal Investigator. Academic partners in the consortium include Munster Technological University (Matt Cotterel PI), the University of Galway (Prof Martin O’Halloran and Martin O’Donnell as Co-PIs) and Trinity College Dublin (Prof Seamus Donnelly as PI) with HIHI offices and staff based at each of these sites.

Clinical partners include the SSWHG (HSE Southwest), Dublin Midlands Hospital Group (HSE Dublin and Midlands) and the Saolta Healthcare Group ( HSE West and Northwest). HIHI has recently included the Mater Misericordia University Hospital Dublin (Pillar Centre) as a new partner. HIHI has also partnered with Health Innovation Research Alliance-Northern Ireland (HIRANI) and the Medicines Optimisation Innovation Centre in the HSE Northern Ireland (MOIC). HIHI also supports EIT Health UK & Ireland programmes. While these are the formal consortium partners- HIHI supports projects from or in any national academic institution or healthcare site.
