Jack is an industrial designer by training. Having studied Industrial Design at undergrad and Medical Device Design at masters level at NCAD, Jack gained 5 years’ experience in design consultancy for healthcare industry leaders while working with Design Partners in Bray. His specialty in the field is applied human-factors engineering. By understanding what makes products instantly familiar and easy to understand, those insights can be applied to create products with exceptional user experiences.
In 2019, Jack moved to NUI Galway to undertake the Bioinnovate Ireland fellowship, where he worked with an interdisciplinary team to gain deep insights into healthcare-system needs and understand the incentive structures that affect the success of medtech projects. Following Bioinnovate, Jack moved straight into developing devices under NUI Galway’s COVID-19 rapid response projects. Jack is also involved in a commercialization project for the treatment of Type-1 Diabetes in NUI Galway.
