Prof. Dan Maher
Dan is a health innovation advisor to HIHI and as Course Tutor delivers the HIHI/TCD Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Innovation with Course Director Prof Seamas Donnelly. He is founder of innovation management company Nua Venture and has held multiple CEO, R&D, Operations & Marketing roles across a wide range of medical and information technology companies including Hemanua (Ireland), Hemacon (Düsseldorf & Bangalore), Biomedical Research Limited (Ireland), Medinet (New York), Siemens (Munich), and Digital Equipment Corporation (Boston & Sophia Antipolis).
He holds two patents in neuromuscular stimulation. In addition, as former Head of Technology Strategy at ACT Venture Capital, he has been a board member in a wide range of early-stage technology companies including AEP Networks Ltd. (Chairman), Cappella Inc. (Vice-Chair), Amphion Ltd (Director), Heartsine Inc. (Director) and Innovada Ltd. (Chairman). Dan holds an M.Eng.Sc in Electronic Engineering from University College Dublin and an MBA from INSEAD in France.
