Assigned to HIHI Dublin from the HSE as a clinical liaison, Emily is the Clinical Research Nurse Manager for HIHI in Dublin. Her role involves supporting industry and health care professionals progress and improving patient care. Emily oversees the co-ordination of projects from study set up, providing support with ethical application and protocol development, through to implementation of studies into a health care setting.
Emily brings a wealth of clinical experience from her career in intensive care nursing and clinical research, in assisting in the planning and supervision of clinical research studies. She has over 12 years’ experience of working in the Irish Health Care System and has established successful networks with health care professionals across a variety of disciplines, disease networks and international research groups. Throughout her nursing career Emily has contributed to delivering and developing education within the health care setting.
Emily began her research career at the Dublin Centre for Clinical Research in 2012, and subsequently worked as clinical research nurse at the St James’s Hospital Clinical Research Facility where she successfully co-ordinated clinical trials, academic and translational research studies. Emily is a registered general nurse and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Intensive Care Nursing, more recently she successfully completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research through the Royal College of Surgeons.
