Dr. Paul Anglim
Dr Paul Anglim is an Innovation Development Adviser with Health Innovation Hub Ireland. Paul is currently running mini-accelerators with the Healthcare community as part of the Health Innovation Hub Ireland activities at NUI Galway. Dr Anglim brings cutting edge Medtech innovation & mentorship experience and a strong industry network in the medical device sector as he holds a dual role with BioInnovate Ireland running Medtech programmes. This expertise is key to developing an innovative culture within the health sector.
Dr Anglim is a Strategic Lead at BioInnovate Ireland based at NUI Galway. BioInnovate Ireland is the national medtech innovation training programme and collaborates with Health Innovation Hub Ireland, and internationally with Biodesign programmes. He was crucial in bringing the European Union EIT (European Institute of Innovation & Technology) Health Initiative accelerator programmes to the UK & Ireland and Wild Card Initiative to NUI Galway – highlighting Galway as a hub for innovation and healthcare research. Dr Anglim has a background in Life Sciences and Medical Communications. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a research focus on the early detection of lung cancer. He also currently lectures in Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology and Biology at NUI Galway, is an Honorary Clinical Fellow at NUI Galway, and member of the pan-european EIT Health Strategic Accelerator Advisory Board.
